"Rolfing has been stretching out muscle fibers that haven’t been stretched for 30 years. When I started, my muscle fibers felt like petrified rock. Now they are getting progressively softer, more supple and gaining elasticity." -Leon Fleisher, Concert Pianist

"The Rolfer works on fascia which is the thin sheath of white tissue that covers the musculature. By manipulating the fascia you manipulate the musculature, and in turn the skeletal structure, so you bring alignment to the body... It can be very healing, cleansing and balancing for the body." -Levar Burton on Oprah - July 7, 1996

Landa Miller
Five years ago, I gave myself a rolfing session for my birthday. I had a summary knowledge of what rolfing was--but I wanted to experience it. I didn't have a particular health problem. I was, and continue to be, in good health. My goal was to keep it that way. After the first session with Richard Merbler, I was amazed at how I felt. I decided to go for the full course of rolfing!
Looking back, I believe that meeting Richard was my good fortune, and getting Rolfed was one of the most rewarding and intelligent choices I've ever made. Rolfing didn't just help me maintain health: it restored me! I felt lighter, stronger, more aligned. And the results of rolfing have stayed with me.
There's talk about the connection between mind, body and spirit. Although words can't describe my rolfing experience, I can tell you that the changes I noticed on the physical level migrated to the other levels. With more sustained energy, I felt "spirited" and was generally more creative and productive in all areas of my life: my work, my writing, my taiji, and my relationships. Instead of sagging from the accumulated stresses of the human condition called "life," I soared with a higher range of energy, clarity, balance, and agility.
Richard is a true healer. I go to him periodically now for massages and "energy charges" to counter things like extended work at the computer or long trips to Asia! So if the gift of health sounds good...I recommend that you go to see Richard Merbler...and "BE GOOD TO YOURSELF." Landa Miller, Dallas Texas

Ralph Zuranski, Health Research Consultant, Bedford, TX
My name is Ralph Zuranski. I have had health problems most of my life...specifically a bad back. I tried everything, including rolfing and postural integration when I lived in San Diego and was in charge of the health research program for a chain of health spas. These therapies helped my back pain.
After moving to Dallas four years ago, my back started hurting again after two car accidents and getting hit by an elevator door that closed on me prematurely. Richard Merbler was an incredible find. He helped me regain my health and helped tremendously with the pain I experienced during my recovery.
Richard is the best Rolfer I have ever found. If you are sick and tired of being in pain, call Richard. Not only is he a great Rolfer but one of the finest human beings I ever have had the good fortune to meet. Ralph Zuranski, Garland, Texas

Beth Biesel, Full Time Mom
My name is Beth Biesel. I’m a full-time wife and mother and outdoor enthusiast. Unfortunately, I was hindered in everything I did because of chronic pain in the form of muscle spasms, tension knots, migraines, and general muscle strain that dogged me all the time.
Until I was introduced to Rolfing, I had spent untold numbers of hours and dollars with all kinds of practitioners. They all promised great results, but none delivered. Richard didn’t promise anything but said he’d take a look and see if he could help me. The first visit produced such dramatic relief that my husband sent me to see Richard twice a week rather than once!
Richard is a professional of the highest integrity with a skill far and above anything I’ve ever seen. I’m so impressed with and thankful for Richard’s work. My husband is so thankful because I am no longer spending tons of money on ineffective therapy and I don’t beg for massages every night. Beth Biesel

Ron Williams, Graphic Artist, Dallas, TX
I am Ron Williams. I am a self-employed graphic artist and single parent to my granddaughter. I have a lot of stress in my life. I have been going to Richard for several years. He is an excellent rolfer.
With stress being a big factor in my life, I frequently have issues with my back that are quite painful. Richard has been able to reverse severe back spasms and realign my back and adjacent areas so that the spasms have all but ceased. He has helped me with my neck also.
I undertook Richard's series of sessions geared to realign the whole body. In the end, I felt younger and I regained a fluidity of movement that I hadn't experienced in years. Additionally, I have found Richard's knowledgeable approach often can correct problems eliminating the need to resort to more invasive, traditional medical solutions. Ron Williams, Dallas, TX

Mary Birch
My hometown is Irving Texas and Richard was a significant enhancement to my back condition and corrected a great portion of it with his Rolfing capabilities. He was the third Rolfer I've seen and the best of all three. He works with a Chiropractor and physical therapist and the three of them together got me well. Thank-You. Mary Birch, Irving Texas

Ben Coleman
I've been involved in sales and marketing for over 25 years - a heavy domestic and international air travel schedule with all the lifting and pulling of my carry-on bags. A stressful corporate environment exacerbated chronic back pain. My back problems started some years before when my car was destroyed upon being hit from behind by a drunk driver.
Traditional and chiropractic solutions were tried with limited success, however, the pain was back, and I needed help. Richard Merbler suggested we try Rolfing and candidly, I thought the whole thing a bit weird. But knowing Richard for several years gave me confidence in him. What did I have to lose? I decided to give Rolfing with Richard a shot. I will never forget rushing to the airport, running the security and boarding gauntlet so that I could make a flight, hoisting all my gear in an overhead compartment, sitting down in a seat, and feeling 8 feet tall, strong, and free after my 5th Rolfing session.
Somehow I knew that something had happened and it was a good something. Bottom line- IT WORKED !!! 5 years later I still have no back pain. NONE !!! Ben Coleman--Dallas Texas

Tony Sager
Hi! My name is Tony Sager and I am 47 years old. I was referred to Richard Merbler by a Therapist who was baffled at the frequency and severity of my shoulder stiffness. I had been having trouble with the right shoulder stiffening for over 10 years. I had resigned myself to constant pain and permanent disability.
I researched Rolfing over the Internet and when I visited Richard I was open-minded but doubtful. After 4-5 visits Richard and I both were seeing little progress and spoke of surgical options. During the next visit, Richard applied an unusual technique underneath my shoulder blade and announced to me that he seemed to find the root of my stiffness. Richard proclaimed that the origin of the problem was in the front of my right hip. Richard then proceeded to apply many different techniques to my body.
Here is the result: Not only is mobility and strength restored but I can use the shoulder normally. I sleep through the night on either side for the first time in 10 years. I no longer see Richard every week. I have not had an appointment in 3 months. The shoulder remains strong and pain-free. I am so amazed that I will be happy to be an example of a rehabilitated patient. Every day I spend pain-free I give silent thanks to Richard Merbler. I recommend his work, personally. Tony Sager, Texas

Whether on the playing field, concert stage, or Central Expressway, explore how Rolfing and Structural Integration can help you be your best.

Rolfing and Structural Integration ----sometimes referred to as myofascial release, rolfing massage, or massage rolfing, is a process of manipulating soft tissue that has trapped and pinched surrounding nerves, muscles, bones, blood vessels, and organs. These restrictions result in discomfort and pain and a reduction in overall flexibility. Rolfing unties the deep knots in your body which cause chronic pain-like back pain. Experience how Rolfing and Structural Integration can help you with your athletic, artistic, and everyday performance.
